Application for Tablet Loan for Undergraduate freshmen (First Semester, AY 115) is Opening

The Office of Library and Information Services provides 209 tablet computers for first-year undergraduate students to borrow during the first semester of the 115 academic year. Eligibility is based on student ID numbers. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to economically disadvantaged students.

· Priority Review Period: September 1 - 3, 2026 (Applications from economically disadvantaged students will be reviewed first).
· General Review Period: Starting September 4, 2026 (All applications will be reviewed).
· Availability Note: The form will stop accepting responses once all available tablets are fully allocated. To check real-time tablet availability for undergraduate freshmen, please visit the Library Catalog System.
Note: Eligibility for economically disadvantaged students is subject to the official list provided by the Office of Student Affairs. If you apply under this priority status, please ensure you meet the required qualifications. Applications found ineligible will be immediately invalidated without further notice.
2. Tablet Loan Regulations
· Eligibility: Only first-year freshmen of the current semester are eligible to apply (determined by student ID number).
· Device Limit: Each person may borrow only one tablet.
· Borrowing Period: The borrowing period is until the Friday of the 18th week of the semester (January 8, 2027).
· Review Mechanism: Applications will be reviewed by library staff (priority given to economically disadvantaged students). Once approved, the borrower will be notified via the commonly used email registered in the Application Information System. Upon receiving the notification, the borrower must complete the borrowing procedure at the library within three working days. Overdue reservations will not be retained.
· Return Requirements: Upon return, the tablet must be in its original condition (including tablet bag, charging cable, plug, and other accessories). Borrowers must delete all personal data themselves; the library is not responsible for storing or clearing user data. Borrowers are responsible for the proper use and safekeeping of the device. In case of loss, intentional damage, or accidental damage, the borrower must compensate in cash at the original purchase price.
· Late Return Fine: A fine of NT$100 per day will be charged for late returns. Devices not returned within 30 library operating days past the due date will be deemed lost, requiring full-price cash compensation.
· Legal Responsibility: Borrowers must comply with intellectual property rights and applicable laws when using the tablet. Borrowers bear full legal responsibility for any intentional or negligent legal violations.

Note: Tablet distribution is scheduled to begin on September 7 ,2026 Please pay close attention to email notifications and collect the device at the library within the designated time period. Applicants who fail to collect the tablet by the specified deadline will lose their spot and be placed back on the waiting list.
