Recommend Books and Journals

Recommended Books & Periodicals

Although the Library and Information Center provides a wide range of resources, they may not fully meet your needs. You are welcome to submit online book purchase recommendations.

Processing Procedure

● Please go to the Recommendation System to recommend books and journals.

● Please check the library catalog first. If the item is already in the collection or being purchased, duplicates will generally not be acquired. However, based on reservation demand and budget availability, the library may still purchase additional copies of popular books each academic year.

● Recommended materials that are pirated or illegally reproduced will not be accepted.

● Whether recommended materials are purchased will depend on the library’s budget and collection development policies.

● Once approved, the acquisition process will begin. From approval to shelf availability, Chinese books usually take about 3–4 months, while foreign-language books may take more than 4 months.

● Subscriptions for academic print journals are recommended by each department and approved by the Library and Information Planning Committee. General (non-academic) journals recommended by readers will be considered based on budget availability.

● After the recommended materials are cataloged and processed, the recommender will be notified via email.

● Before submitting a recommendation, please check the library catalog to confirm that the item is not already available.

Other Questions

  1. Recommended books will be reviewed and, if approved, included in the print book acquisition list for the current academic year. However, the purchasing schedule may vary.
  2. If the requested book is urgently needed for teaching or research purposes, please indicate this in the remarks section when submitting your recommendation so that it can be processed as a priority request.
