System
Overview
Turnitin is a text similarity
detection system that compares papers or articles uploaded by faculty and
students against an extensive database. It helps prevent improper citation and
plagiarism, and promotes better writing quality and academic integrity.
System
Features
★Originality Check
Compares
submitted documents against a vast database that includes publicly available
internet content, journal articles, student papers, and other published works.
★Similarity Report
Highlights
matched text from different sources in color, with links to the original
sources for easy review and revision.
★Multiple File Formats Supported
Accepts
common file types such as PDF (unencrypted, text-selectable, not directly
converted from Mac), Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint…
Eligible
Users
Faculty, staff, and
students of the university (excluding students on leave of absence)
★Create Your Own Course
Faculty members can
create courses in Turnitin for their students to submit assignments and check
similarity. If needed, please email isuturnitin@isu.edu.tw.
★Join an Existing Course
The account validity
follows the course start and end dates. After a course expires, you may still
view and download reports for files you have already submitted. To continue
using the service, you must reapply to join a new course. (The library opens
new courses each year.)
Application
and Usage Instructions
★Account Requirements
This system
operates on an application basis. Applicants must use ISU email address
(@isu.edu.tw or @cloud.isu.edu.tw) as the account for application. The approved
account is for personal use only and must not be shared, in order to avoid
comparison errors. If it is found that the account holder is not a current
faculty member or student of the university, the Library reserves the right to
delete the account.
★Account Validity
1. For
users who create their own course:
Accounts will be locked if there is no login activity for over 6 months. (You
may reset your password to log in again, but will not be able to create new
courses or use Quick Submit.) Please contact isuturnitin@isu.edu.tw for the
administrator to unlock your account.
2. For
users joining a course:
The account validity follows the course start and
end dates. If your course expires, please reapply to join a new course.
(The library opens new courses each year.)
Application
Process
1. Fill out the
online application form: https://reurl.cc/VW4ooY
