Recommended Books

Recommended Books

No matter how comprehensive the resources of the Office of Library and Information Services are, they may still not meet your needs. You are welcome to recommend books and audiovisual materials online.

process management

1. Please visit the Recommendation System to recommend books or audiovisual media.

2. Check the library catalog. If the item is already in the collection or in the process of being purchased, duplicates will generally not be acquired. However, depending on the reservation status and budget, the library may periodically purchase additional copies of popular books each academic year.

3. Recommendations of pirated or copied materials will not be accepted.

4. The purchase of recommended books will be decided based on the library's budget and collection policy.

5. Once the purchase is confirmed, the procurement process will begin. It takes approximately 3-4 months for Chinese books and over 4 months for Western books from the time of approval to the time the books are available for borrowing.

6. New subscriptions or renewals of academic print journals are recommended by the faculty meetings of each department and approved by the Library Information Planning Committee. General (non-academic) periodicals recommended by readers may be ordered based on budget evaluation.

7. Once the recommended materials are cataloged, the recommender will be notified via email.

8. Before recommending materials, please check the library collection to ensure that the item is not already available.

Other questions

1. From now on, recommended books will be screened and included in the purchase list for this academic year's print books, but the purchase schedule is irregular.

2. If there are books urgently needed for teaching or research, please note this in the remarks column for special procurement.
